Is there a status update for EZSync? Been wanting to use the new version since 1.92 gives me quite a few problems....

I was hoping for a bit more feedback from the beta testers; they have been fairly quiet so far (but thanks to those that have pointed out issues). I'm not sure whether that means they aren't using it much or whether it is all working fine.

At the moment there is no installer so I need to put that right before opening it up to a wider audience. I can probably do that fairly soon. If the current testers could post an update I'd be grateful.

I'd like to be certain I've fixed whatever it is you're waiting for - what is it?

    Ric,

My main problems with 1.92 (THE OLD VERSION) have been:

    1) When resuming syncs, sometimes the copied files will have the wrong / transposed names
    2) The server app sometimes tends to throw an error. I simply dismiss the dialog and all is OK. But it gets annoying after a while. I can't recall the error dialog sorry, but it has been reported on this forum with more detail by me and others.
    3) Sometimes I have seen the connection stall. I really doubt it is my wireless network, but it could be the case. My car and my wifi sit only 10 feet away, b/c my office room is behind the garage wall.

Been out of the loop for a while, and carPC crashed. Back up this week hopefully. Used new program a few times with no problems. will test external USB hard drive by weekend.

I have played with the removable drive thing.. and it seems to work pretty well...

the only little issue that I have.. is that I would rather specify what drive I want to use as my removable drive.. rather than what drives NOT to use... but its not really a issue.. its just more of a convenience thing for me.. and then again.. its not like i will really use the removable drive sync that often(if ever)

from what I have seen so far.. this is ready for release!!

    Ah, the $64,000 question...

On the subject of the issues you pointed out, I believe (1) is fixed but I don't think (2) and (3) are since I could never reproduce them, although I might have fixed them thru other changes if you see what I mean.

I need to produce the installer for the app - then I can release it.

Will try and get around to it soon, but I'm quite busy at work at the moment which is the main thing preventing me from making more progress.

With ref to the mention of being able to specify which drives to accept rather than reject - this is a relatively easy change which I can do before I release.

    Ric.
