hmm its working for me. You have the folders set up as per instructions on the removable media?
I have already installed the server component on my desktop...I have also assigned my directories as removable media...But nothing happens when I plug in my flash drive...Is there something else I need to do or am I doing something wrong...

all the folders you want to have sync must be in a folder on the removable media named sync. For instance if you wanted to sync a road runner direction you'd have a folder like this on ur removeable media
sync\c\program files\road runner
thats all i remember having to set up.

You don't have to create those directories. The server side software does it for you.Originally Posted by Sonicxtacy02

Have you checked that you are running the correct version of the software? You need to be on 1.94 for removable media sync.
Correct process is as follows;
1. Set up directories on server - references should be local to the machine you want them installed on. So if you want c:\myfiles on the server to go into c:\carpc\myfiles then these are the directory references you should use when setting up the server. Configure it for removable media (radio buttons below the directories)
2. Insert your removable media. Server should detect it and copy files across (it may ask you if you want to do this - see the help on the web site for configuration). Note the directory you gave from when you tried to set it up manually on your media device is wrong, but you don't need to do that anyway.
3. Insert your removable media in the car (client software must be running of course). Provided you configured it correctly at install time then the sync should happen.
I suggest you;
- check the configuration in the ezsyncsrv.ini file (see web site). In particular note certain drive letters can be excluded or included in the sync.
- check client side configuration (there is a question at install time asking if you are syncing with removable media).
If you can, leave the files on the removable media because this allows both the server and client to only sync the files needed.
Ric.

ric,
could you explain how the directory is wrong? that should direct me into the right direction...also it is version 1.94...I havent set up the client portion yet because nothing is happening on the server side yet...I checked all the other things and they were correct, such as the included drive letters...what about the removable media...does the folders need the same name...or do i even need separate folders on the device...thanks

Angle brackets are used in instructions to denote that the identified item should be replaced with something eg <list of drives> means put ABCDE or whatever.
