    sync by computer name

    Is it possible to sync by computer name? I'd rather stick with dynamic ips on all my computers if I can. Thanks!

    This isn't implemented at the moment.

    Lightbulb Working Dynamic IP Solution

    I'm using 1.94, but I was able to do it with 1.92 as well...

    First and foremost, you must be running a DNS server on your network, and your devices on your network need to point to it. You will need a Linux or Windows NT/2000/2003 Server to accomplish this. After you have it running properly, edit the INI file.

    In the ezsyncli.ini file, use the DNS name of the server(s) you want to connect to. Example:

    TargetIP1=server1.fivevolt.local
    TargetIP2=server2.fivevolt.local
    TargetIP3=server3.fivevolt.local
    TargetIP4=server4.fivevolt.local

    Where server and the number is the name of the computer, and fivevolt.local is the name of my internal DNS namespace. You could also use port forwarding through your router and a dynamic DNS nameservice for when you are on the internet but off your own network. Example:

    TargetIP1=myezsync.dyndns.com
    TargetIP2=syncme2.no-ip.info

    If you hybernate or standby your carpc/laptop for a while, you may have to issue the following to get it to work again:
    IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS

    Hope this helps!
