    go to the dollar store and get a roll of aluminum foil
    it is refered to tin still dont know why

    but it pulls off the fiberglass really easy.

    Its refered to as tin for the same reason I ask for a kleenex or say "grab a scott towel".

    kleenex and scott are popular brand names for their respective products, "tin foil" isn't... aluminum foil is called tin foil because:

    Kleenex and Scott are popular brand names, because they are either pioneers in their field, or simply the accepted "Original". Same thing holds true w/ Tin foil, being made exclusively from Tin in the begining, then switching over to Aluminum. Tin foil was the "original" so the name stuck. Same thing.


    Do you think if Kleenex Brand Stopped making Tissues tomorrow, we'd stop calling them Kleenex??

    Thanks guys. I knew about aluminum foil, off course.
    I thought people are refering to foil that are actually tin not aluminum.
    I guess I haven't picked up that part of English.

    Well, I just need to go to my kitchen then.
