    I think I need some help with this...



    I bought a carputer off ebay and I think I'm in over my head. The last person who built it made it ghetto-fab. Made a case out of plexiglass and then just electrically taped the pieces together. It has a nice fan, m2-atx power supply, 160 gb hard drive, windows xp, and that's where my knowledge of it stops.

    Any suggestions of what I should do with it? I think I need to/or someone else could fab me up a new case for it. I don't think this one is going to last much longer.

    It stinks being stuck at this point. The dash screen and all audio is ready to go, this carputer was the last piece....

    Did it look like that in the pictures? Anyways, if you want to keep it really simple, you could just take off the tape, and secure the pieces of plexiglass together with some nuts and bolts and maybe some silicone. Then if it will fit it would be a good idea to move the fan to the inside area of the case, on the side it might fit. I dont think youre over your head, if you just take your time and plan it out, the case shouldnt be too hard to make work. If thats all you have left to do, feel lucky.

    how have you got on. i am thinking of doing a plexy glass box with a metal bottom.

    what kind of fix are you looking for? you could always buy a new case, and cram everything in there.

    i don't have much space to work with. only about 4" it will go behind the back seats but i need it to also look on par to.

    I'm sending it to Salvi for sprucing up. Hopefully I'll have a Show-Off thread here in a couple weeks when everything is done.
