Looking sweet
Hi All,
This is my first post and my first dive into fabrication...
I have decided to install a lilliput 619 lcd into my dash where the radio was.
I have attached some pics of what i have done so far... I am far from completed but getting there.
Any advice would be greatly welcomed...
I guess the most important question that most will as is what i used to get to this point:
150 Grit Sand Paper
Blue painters tape
Toothpics (for spot filling and holding up parts)
A plastic syringe
and most importantly ABS Cement (im in canada and was unable to find the black abs cement that i have seen here on the forums, but i purchased the yellow one...MEK is the product in it so i figured it would be just as good as the black one)
Check out the pics.
Looking sweet
thanks!
Yeah looks pretty good. Are you going to keep the stock color? (Silver, right?)
Do you think you'll have issues with glare? I've been in those cars, and can see it in the picture, the sunlight comes right down on the dash. Window tint and an eyebrow on the windshield may help.
actually the stock colour of the radio section is black and im going to put it back to black.
in regards to the glare, i had the screen mocked up in there and had all my windows and sunroof open and it was pretty decent i was actually shocked, i will say with the sunroof shade closed and the windows up (yes tinted and eyebrow on windsheild) its incredible.
Looks good, but I am not crazy about the bonding product you are using.
black makes everything look stock
Black is the new, um ... black!

Looks great, I'm really afraid to fabricate so I'm going with a single DIN motorized screen. Post pics of the finished install. I'll put up some pics of my RSX too.
What would you charge to make something like this for me? I'm really afraid that I'll mess something up completely.
