so it is a single din in dash flip out?
so turns out that my Xenarch in-dash screen is way too small for my GTP dash. also the mounting tabs are on the front and not on the side, there is literally no way for me to mount the monitor...
anyway heres my gutted dash.
the red circles are where there is the only way to attach the stock headunit or anything to the dash, there is nothing inside to attach to its just a big open space...heres my original HU so you can see what i am talking about.
my Xenarch is half the size of this..so i dont know what to do...
..build a custom enclosure?? if i were to make one, what should i use and where can i get it? keep in mind i have to make those little side tabs to fasten the enclosure to the dash..also id have to mount the monitor to the enclosure..
ARGH so ****ed offfff.....help please.
yes it is... its an in-dash monitor.. single din and it flips out. my headunit is not 2 dins but its also not a single din..its like a 1 n half..
ok so are you planning on loosing your whole 1.5 din? like for example, replacing it with the in dash? so pretty much you can gut out the whole 1.5 din
ive already got rid of the stock head unit, as you can see int he picture...i am planning on putting the single din monitor in there..except i cant mount it..because the monitor is too small. and it just sinks in there..
what i need is a dash kit for my car..ive only found a face plate so far. i need something like this
except..now how do i attach the monitor to this....grrr
simple, build metal brackets around it that will attach to the faceplate, take the bezel from the single din and mold that into the faceplate and your good to go. it is going to take a decent amount of knowledge and trial and error to get it right, but that is what need to be done
ive never worked with this stuff..can you be a little bit more specific?
thanks in advance
eh, i am not trying to be negative or something, but if you dyi, you may get frustrated because it may a bit hard, there are many different thing you have to know about bonding plastic and fiberglass, and such, sanding, bondo, the correct paint...etc etc
i understand...i think i found something that i can use..my only question is how does the "sleeve" that comes with the xenarch attach to the face plate...
im guessing the little metal slabs raise up against the face plate?

you could actually get the little cage for the single din, and mount that with L brackets to the faceplate
