Question 88 honda crx hf - 15" Touch LCD install?

I've got an older 15" LCD touchscreen laying around and would like to use for my carputer that I am working on. It's going into an 88 honda crx hf. The picture on it is great - bright and crisp. I'd like to install it somewhere in the dash (maybe glovebox area?) does anyone have any suggestions of where I can put this thing? I use roadrunner with the voice recognition in it, so I guess I don't need to have direct access to it, but that would kind of be a shame since it is a touchscreen and all. I've never fabricated anything before (aside from building a bunny if that helps, lol) - but am quick to pick things up. I'd be using it for pretty much everything, mp3s, videos, weather, mapquest/internet browsing, etc...

    Thanks,

    -reflect23

put it where the radio/climate controls/cig lighter/etc is, and mount it vertically so its taller than it is long.. Put the climate controls.. Between the seats?

Im putting a 7 or 8 inch screen in my 91 si =]

wow, that is an awesome idea! I never thought about the vertical mount, that will look nice! I didn't know it was possible to relocate the climate controls that far - I had a 7" widescreen for a while, but when i brought it inside my house to work on the old carputer, my son (who was about 3 at the time) peed on it, frying it. I only had it for about a month! Good luck with your screen - keep it away from waterlogged children!

    Haha! That sucks man..

As for the climate controls.. they are fully electronic, except for two cables.. so thats the only limiting factor. id imagine you could mount them all the way at t he bottom of the console, where that little recessed spot is, and that should give plenty of room up top for the screen..

BUmp for crxes everywhere. I want to put a 7 or 8 inch screen where the HVAC controls and head unit are stock. I want to delete my HVAC controls(which recently cracked) and control them via pc.
