Fiberglass Layering

I'm thinking about buying a fiberglass Headliner replacement to make some install mods and wanted to make my mods as OEM as possible! Is there anything special I need to do to the New headliner (fiberglass) to add additional fiberglass to? I basicly want to add my Flip down Monitor into the liner, as well as a few small speakers over the driver and passenger seats.

I'll most likely use MDF to make my molds glued directly to the Headliner, then fleece over it and resin the fleece, I'm assuming I'll ahve to "rough" the area to append my mods any other suggestions?

I'm just speculating here but I would try to make it as light as possible. The more weight up there, just hanging, could cause problems. So your new headliner will be pure fiberglass, uncovered? You're going to wrap it yourself after?

If I were doing something like this, I might think of using some bracing on the other side that the MDF is screwed to. That's if you got the room. But fiberglassing to fiberglass should prove to be a strong enough bond.

Most Likely Gonna wrap it after all is said and done (trying to make it as OEM as I can, Where the Speakers are I'm gonna add some extra hard ware to attach to the cars metal should be enough plus I ahve a sun roof which takes some weight out, and also aids in the support of the weight

When you say fiberglass to fiberglass, you do mean just adding on directly to the main structure ...I'm getting ready to start a much smaller and less detailed fiberglass project, so I'm hopping to figure out what I'll need there but all the info I can gain is good
