I'm in the process of building a computer for my '05 Silverado, and I have been thinking about moving some controls to an overhead console just like you did. Did you already have an overhead console in your truck?. I don't have an overhead and I'm worried about how I'm going to mount it up there, was it easy to mount/ how did you do it if it wasn't there already?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to this...

Thanks for the interest, and I apologize for not finishing up the post. Regretfully, my truck way broken into about a week after the last pics I posted. The idiots completely ripped apart my dash breaking it into 5 pieces just to get the stupid monitor out(I'll post pics of the aftermath later today). I think they thought it was an "all-in-one" DVD,GPS, Radio unit, but obviously wasnt. And the kicker was they couldnít even use it because they cut all of the wires leaving the connectors and everything else behind the dash...not that I expected a thief to be very intelligent, so serves them right.

Im in the process of building the dash back up, I just ordered all of the necessary parts etc. I was so disgusted with the break in that it got me a bit discouraged for a while. But Im back in the game, so stay tuned.

Regarding the HVAC control relocation, the actual relocatioin was probably one of the easiest things in the whole build. You have to pay very close attention to the wire colors though when extending them, the colors are VERY close, light green, a little lighter green, mint green, forest green, etc. So I basically cut and re-connected 1 wire at a time. I lengthened each wire approx 8 ft. and then ran the new wires behind the gauge cluster, up the driver side pillar, under the headliner, and finally into the overhead pod. That pod was just the one that had the 2 reading lights and the little storage department. I think I took some pics of me putting the HVAC controls into it on the first page of this post. It was quite a bit of cutting and trimming to get it in there. I didnít have to make any changes to the knobs or buttons though so other than the fitment, it was fairly straight forward.

I will post pics of the re-installation when I get going. If anyone has any questions about the install feel free to email me at [email protected] or PM. Thanks again for all of the comments, I really appreciate it!!
