Not a carputer, but you might still find this interesting

I'm refurbishing my car's internals, starting from the gear handle. Someone may find this interesting so I'm posting it here as well.

This is actually all part of my carputer project.

Very nice, I did something pretty similar in my 98 accord, except I did it the hard way using the stock plastic which I completely cleared.

I printed out my design backwards on sticker paper, stuck it on, then cut out the letters very carefully with an x-acto knife. And I have it lit up with blue leds from underneath to match the rest of my converted dash lights.

I like how mine turned out..but seeing yours now makes me a tad jealous mine doesn't look AS professional!

    First a question:
Can anyone recommend a good rubber spray paint? I want to paint the arm break handle and from my bad experience rubber get sticky if you spray it with plastic paint.

The project is done. The whole process can be seen here:

Thanks for all who are reading! I will post all my projects over at my blog so if you're interested in following it sign up as my "friend" on live journal.

I know that there is a flexible vinyl paint. The can shows a picture of a desk chair, I can't imagine that stuff would be too bad. Never used it though.

Do you happen to know the brand name? Does it come in spray form? I don't want to paint it with a brush it won't look very unified.

It is a spray can. I can't remember exactly what brand it was. I noticed it in Home Depot one day. My guess would be Rustoleum or Krylon.
