    65 Mustang Touchsreen/Console Help Needed

I need help with idea's on how to redo my console/touchsreen portion.

    1. Mold the screen in with the wood then recover with vinyl? But, not sure if that would look good.

    2. Mold the screen in with Black ABS sheet and leave the ABS uncovered and attach it to the console?

    3. Re-cutout the wood and rewrap the vinyl better then reinsert the screen?

    Help...

ahhh ... how to introduce modern technology into a classic car ...

the problem being, of course, that modern day textiles just don't look right in an old classic like yours. I have the same problem with an AC Cobra I'm building.

Personal thoughts are to try to make the unit 'look like it belongs' ... so avoid any plastic stuff and make the bezel look the same as the rest of the fittings in your car. Which probably means getting some sort of brushed steel, or chrome bezel. At the very least, I'd say cover the bezel with a vinyl. Moving the buttons to accommodate this is easy enough.

    Good luck ;o)
