So the time has come where the installation of my screen is bothering me.
I'm currently not using the whole screen to its full potential.
I'd like to be able to use a 800X600 resolution or higer. My opening where my old delco radio was is smaller than 7in diagonal opening.
Id like the cut the bottom of my dash opening and stretch the opening (Top to bottom) to make it wider for the screen. Left to right is not an issue b/c the opening is wide enought.
My main question is on how am i gonna join the two peices when they are cut. Fiber glass?, body filler (bondo) that has a backing for it to grab on.
Do I sand off the current paint and then blend in the new peices that join the cut portions?
I have included a picture of a my dash. You can see what it looks like in my car 95 Chevy Lumina LS
I plan on using more the black plastic stuff as a face plate or or actually bring the opening out to were it is flush.
just below the dash is a pull out cup holder and my Cig lighter which I plan on relocating when i do this so thats not an issues
Feel free to ask more questions If I am not clear on what I'd like to do.
Thanks for the help and it is always greatly appreciated
