Need Advice / Opinions with Tahoe Dash

    Greetings fellow mp3carers,
Iíve been working on computers for a bout 20 years now, but Iím still new to this whole fabrication thing. What I have here is the dash of a 99 Chevy Tahoe. My plan is to install a 12.1Ē touch screen. As you can see from the pics, Iím stuck at this point so I deiced to ask for some advice / opinions from people who know more about this thing than I do.
Iíve heard that the pour and fill solvent method works well, but cracks over time. Then Iíve heard duramix is good, but bumper repair is better. I just donít know!! So any advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

That job is easier then easy. You can use Duramix, it works well, or any of those plastic products. However when I do bezels like this, I always sand everything down, then I glue everything together with CA Glue which I describe as Super Glue On steriods. It literally fuses the 2 pieces of plastic together. From there I would use duraglass filler to get it nice and even and OEm looking.

From this point, sand down that section that is being worked on. Mask it off, then primer with a High Build Primer, then wetsand the primer with about 400, then paint

    oh....yeah...
    Easier said then done

And make sure when you adhere the two pieces together that the screen frame is absolutely flat, so you don't wind up with a cracked touchscreen.

If just enough is really good, then too much ought to be perfect.

Do it, it's worth every penny he charges and his work is excellent. I've had him do two things for me. One very simple and one much more complex and both turned out absolutely spectacular.
