Critique my dash bezel paint work...

Finished up the dash bezel yesterday...Bondo, primer, putty, finish coat...

I really liked how it looked with the flat black primer, and I was tempted to leave it at that, but primer isn't very durabable all by itself...
So I bought a can of Duplicolour black trim paint...basically, flat black...

Except, it's no where near flat black. If I didn't do a 'texture' coat on it, it would probably look full-glossy!

So I'm thinking about maybe sanding it smooth and getting some REAL flat black paint...

    What'cha think?

(Pay no attention to the filled ashtray area...I'm having a piece of machine acrylic made to cover it (with USB ports, blue LED back-lighting, engine start button, etc...)

Nice work man, do you have a before and after pic ?

I used the same paint for my bezel in my Acura and it turned out pretty good! It also seems to last longer then I thought...

    Nice work again bro!

    Thanks...
Do you think it should be a flatter black?

IMO, no... It's not a super-high gloss black, but has enough sheen to give it that "wet" look of cleanliness. However, a flatter black would make the other parts stand out more.
Play with it, 'til it's broke.
