Hi Thanks for looking! I ended up using the samsung screen on a different build that I sold to a buddy. I would have had to modify the truck bezel to fit the samsung. Right now I am still running the original lilliput (knocks on wood)
System has been running good with the exception of 3 various bluescreens since the 3rd mobo was installed. Rebbot fixed it each time. I think it may be time to re do the OS and software. Still running a 6 year old XP install that has the mobo swapped out 3 times lol. May need to bite the bullet and buy win 8.1 :-/
Well A sad Week gentlemen. I took a trip to Chicago with the truck over the weekend and when I got back the carPC stopped booting. It was very sudden, worked perfect all trip, then I got back and washed the truck and it just got stuck in a reboot loop. I pulled it apart and it turned out to be the mobo (again). Last time I purchased 2 mobos on ebay so had a spare laying around, figured I would swap it out like before and be OK. I swapped it out and bam booted first try to where I was. Thought I was in the clear so I put it back in the truck... Well the sound card on this second mobo was shot. Barely put out any sound and sounded like pure garbage. :-( Slowly and sadly I admitted defeat, and accepted this was an end to an era. I've been using the carPC for a decade now and had grown very fond of it. Well due to my current complete lack of time due to working a lot and raising a child I decided I just don't have the time to rebuild this project at this point in my life. I do not have the time to rebuilt everything on a new OS (still was running XP) and don't have the time to work out all the bugs and get everything working smooth as it were. So today I picked up a new Pioneer AVIC 7100 NEX double din nav unit and gutted all the carPC wires and modules out of the truck. It was a sad day but I must start a new chapter, and this was the easiest way to keep most of the features I am accustomed to, without the R&D that comes with the carPC. I think Ill be using the iDatalink maestro interface to give me access to OBD2 and other vehicle functions, and will likely be selling all the hardware that has gotten me up to this point. Again I feel like this is an end to an era, Ive always loved messing with this carPC and having a full on custom system with a frontend designed by me, but I just do not have the time to devote to building a complete new system from the ground up at this point in my life. I hope I can revisit the carPC sometime in the future when my child grows older, but sadly, for now I am going mainstream for awhile. PEACE AND GOOD KARMA MP3CAR , it's been a blast.
