I have not done any skinning yet, I my setup I planned to do something that will look similar to iDrive.

The BM I got for Noahs M5 was not in great condition.

Have you seen anything like this? I think there has been battery acid in it, I lost my fingerprints when taking it apart.

Disregarding the condition of the BM, it turns out to be a lot more difficult to convert an E39 monitor for two reasons.

1) The door itself is much thinner. I do not know as yet how I will be able to fit the LCD controller pcb into it.
2) The housing is much narrower behind the door, and I am not sure that it will fit into the dash if I make it wider.

Whoa... I rest my case... that unit have been in the water, or as you say... battery acid en masse.

Is it even functional?

Is there any posebilities to "pigyback" the PCB?
Not best solution, but then space is not the biggest concerne.

It was completely seized. I could not even remove turn nobs as the spring holding it had rusted together with axis. They came out together! DC motor was a big short circuit. Way beyond repair.
But good enough to investigate how to do the conversion. And if I modify the house maybe it could be electro polished. Are you familiar with that method, Kraimer? I do not know if the screw threads can be used after that, being so rusty to start with.

Piggy back was what I had in mind as that is how I've done it in E46, but I am not sure there is enough space anyway. We'll see.

About the pcb. I have found 2 bugs that I have corrected and will send to Grey tonight. He is very busy at the moment so I do not know how much time he has had testing, if any.

Regarding multiple licenses.. I got my win7 ultimate 64bit today... Clearly states. "One computer only"

Grey is testing unit now, and there will probably be some minor changes in the area of LED backlight. I could send you your unit in about a week, Kraimer. PM your adress, please.

I have not forgotten that you sent me a mouthpiecs for Crinos BM, so we have to agree an a price. I suggest 90€ and then I also cover p&p. Ok?

No, you have a great part in this piece of kit being what it is today, as you do too, Kraimer, and other people that has got the gps module previously. It would not have been half as good if it had not been for you guys!
