Under the drivers seat have been in my mind as well, but I'm not sure if its space enough. (I have the seat tilted all the way down).

I thought all E46 had this space?

The models that for weight distribution reasons has the battery in the boot has this void. Lighter 4 cyl versions do not.

I was thinking about putting a second battery there, but having the PC there seems like a great idee for availability! There are holes for bolts for monting a box to keep the dirt and water out. And genomföringar for cables!

How are you proceeding, Kraimer? I was surpriced to here that the Lilliput did not have "ignition" nor "rearview camera" wires. And since your panel is transflektive I am also interested in how dark the screen is when LED backlight is off. Will you still see the welcome screen? Let me know.

Mine is a 323, and it has the battery in the back, so maybe it does? I just haven't looked haha.
Would be much handier than putting it under the seat - but still, would you need to make an airtight box to stop water etc getting in? Is there easy access for cables to get through from the dash?

At the lower part of the picture you can see a big rubber octopus. I think you can use that for cables.

I think "a lid" would be sufficient for water, but you would maybe want some rubber for vibrations too.

I hardly ever open the hood haha, and when I do, I don't generally look around much :/

Can you tap into that power source there too? and is there a good earthing point there already?

My amps are both tucked away nicely where the CD changer in the boot was - so not a problem for me

I just have to go have a look at this hole in the morning and see if it actually exists in my car.. and then see how I am going to mount my CarPC into it :/

The large nut like thingy is ground, and as Bes said. The "rubber squid" is there for pulling cables through the firewall. PERFECT...
The two powercables that already run there, I'm a bit unsertaint about, but I do think they are for ECU.

Regarding Amps...
I do believe that the Alpine PDX 2-channels would fit there. But as long as you go above 2-channels, they would be to large to fit.
I have not messured amps and "cargospace", but perhaps I should?
