I have been looking through my boxes and have found one of my button interface prototype boards of unknown state that would fit E39. (It does not contain the lcd button simulation). What I need to complete it is the connectors on the bmw lcd controller. But give me a few weeks to sort some other things first. But since your unit is dead, I assume you could send it to me now if you are still interested.

so after all this time and effort I have some "bad" news....

thinking of getting rid of the car and getting something bigger (pickup maybe?). I don't want to sell the car to someone who wouldn't appreciate all the work that was devoted to this CarPC project; therefore I'd like to sell it to someone who would! I'll be posting this in classifieds section as well...

I'd like to sell the monitor, pc, and all the hardware developed by B-O - however I may split everything up depending on interest...

I am doing some plastic stuff, so now I am reading this and learning how you did the finish on the panel.

I found out that the mechanical department at my school has purchased a Dimension SST 1200es - a rapid prototype printer!!! With a help of a good friend, the stock bezel was modeled in SolidWorks to incorporate Lilliput's 7" screen and mounting locations. I will try to print out the model and see how that comes out. Even though a prototype printer does not leave a perfect finish on a part, it does however provide precise dimensions! - expecting the model is precise

Yes, and I am still improving it. Booting time is anoying... And hibernation creates more problems than it solves with USB devices, but there might be ways around that...

Using Spotify a lot I have started to make my own dead simple app on the lib that can be downloaded from Spotify. Great fun! That will be version 0.2 of my FE :-)
