The typical auto-ignition point on acrylic Plexiglas is over 800 degrees F. I assume the melting point is somewhere way up there as well. In other words, the computer itself would die long before the case would.
Hi!
i plan to put my carpc inside an acrylic case on my car....but i am concerned with heat/high temperatures....will these destroy the case or will it burn ???? (silly question maybe but i have some doubts...since i havent done any acrylic case till now....and the first one will live on a car....)
Thanks!

RevFE - Super fast, modular frontend. Most powerful skinning engine in existence. Strong enough for an i7 made for a fitpc.Originally Posted by mitchjs
Just a shame I can't justify a carpc to use it on anymore.
While acrylics dont combust until over 800 degrees they do start disforming at a much lower tempature. I think its somewhere over 150 degrees F (maybe 180-200). I think it will be fine even on a hot day and i am pretty sure ive seen some people who have built plexi cases for their car.
