Also with this being your first experience with bondo, don't be afraid to use extremely low grit sandpaper to shape. I'm talking 40grit. If this stuff is past the green stage and fully cured it'll be like rock and sanding with 80 or up will take forever.

Get the general shape with the 40 then move to 80 and up for the detail.

My Carputer is gone for the season so I'll be running all my sound directly from my iPhone. I have been inspired to make one of these for myself.

I'm using the lower half of my hardcase and mounting it to my cup holder. I've used different kinds of Epoxy putties before and I used AquaMend for the first time last night... I really like it. I'm not sure if its not as dense or whether its just not fully cured (its really cold here so it might not have cured fully) but its "smoother" then the gray putty which have larger aggregate and thus more brittle (but super strong with no flex). The Aqua mend still have a bit of flex this morning, but again I'm not sure if that's the nature of the product or because its super cold here.

I'll take some pictures later today and add them to this post.

At least Im not as anal as others... My first bezel was hot glue and resin... fun times, got so high I slapped my wife... bad thing is I've never been married.

Kidding aside.. nicely done! Round 2 is a nice improvement. Shows you learned something! Seeing all these docks/mounts makes me want to get my SportTrac a cell phone...

Just wanted to say that first job I dig as I haven't got the courage to start my project yet. But I think you're doing very well my fellow hobbiest! (is that a word?)

So disappointed... I thought I'd be able to start fiberglassing today. Maybe tomorrow.

Good idea, you mean white tape all around and then blue tape for the inside of the edge, so I have a clear reference point?

if so, ho will I get edges of the blue tape around the bottom corners perfect (circled areas below)
- I want to bondo right up the inner silver line all around bottom and sides


I've been slowed down by cold - big snow storm in Toronto (-2 late at night when I actually have time to paint) so I'm hesitant to sand as the garage is freezing and need to find a place to spray the primer
- i have a little electric space heater, but it's useless since the garage is not insulated much at all, so it's only warm right in front of the heater
- do you guys think it will be ok to spray the primer and base coats right in front of the heater?

man, i hate the cold, I have so many little things on my truck to paint that I wasn't ready for the cold arrg!

Sweet , how you sending sound to deck and do you have hands free set up?

I originally had sound output from back of dock to RCA inputs on back of deck...

now I'm experimenting with bluetooth a2dp to a 3.5mm output

- connect the little device directly to the decks rca Aux input and then all all iphone audio goes through bluethooth to the aux in on deck including the mic from the little device (which will be mounted in my driver side sun visor with rca running through pillar and to the back of deck)

no all I need is bluetooth touch screen input and a way to video out horizontal while keeping my iphone vertical and I'm in business with a fair excuse for a car pc that comes off my hip and into my car seamless and factory looking all while always being on and connected to the internet
