Yea you are right, I got mixed up between Halogen and HID there.
I believe that the light output on the 6000k is a higher lumens than that of a 4300k bulb, I cant recall the website I looked at to quote.
4300K is a purer white than 6000k. 6000k HID are closer to the cool blue spectrum.
i am not talking about the lights that look brighter, but the cars with dual headlight reflectors-- one for lows and one for highs-- that makes it obvious that they have their brights on.
don't get 6k-- i have them and they are too blue(makes it harder to see at night)-- i am planning on going to 4k once it drives me nuts enough
I got myself some aftermarket 43000k fog kit and it's the same color as my headlights!
I know this is older, but I wanted to register solely to thank the OP.
Your DIY gave me a lot of info and courage to attempt this on my car. I had decided to to a quad projector retrofit to my headlights, and added demon eyes and led ring during the construction period. I wired a DPST switch to allow ON-OF-ON. Position 1 is red demon eye and position 3 is white led ring.
Here are a couple pics. Hope you enjoy.
