Nexson (or anyone else who has experience with this sort of thing) -

Is it worthwhile to get the special "Plastic Primer", or is it best to just get the regular primer? Also, where can I get my hands on some of that SEM Textured paint? I went to Ace Hardware and Kragen, and neither one of them had it.

    Cheers!

You wont find SEm at any store. I would order it off line. For primer, pick it up from autozone, Duplicolor Filler Primer

Cool! Ordered some online, and picked up some of the Duplicolor Filler Primer at Kragen.

Here's my first attempt at Bondo. Thought I'd post some pics while I'm waiting for it to dry. I made a scraper out of an old Blockbuster card, to fit the curves that I am going for. I think this was a good idea, because it came out very clean and uniform.

Now the hard part is going to be the sides. I think I'll just use my finger for that.

Really? You guys can't get it at Autozone or any other big car supplier? I guess we're lucky where I am that our regular car parts chain carries SEM and lots of other paint supply brands as well. A bunch of the stores can mix cans or spray bombs of paint as well.

Question on the SEM though, is the SEM primer worth the money? I had a gift card for the parts store, so I bought the primer along with the texture and trim black. /shrug

    Cheers,

    Kris

Here it is after some more sanding and the first coat of primer. Needs a few touchups, but not too much.

For filling in the little air bubbles and such, can I just use bondo on top of the primer, or do I need to sand it down first?
