Move HVAC controls for 02 Firebird

I can't seem to find info on moving HVAC controls in a 2000-2002 Firebird.

I've got an 8" display and I'm looking at my bezel, and it looks like even if I go to the top of bezel area I might still not have enough room unless I relocate the HVAC. If I do that, the screen will fit with room to spare. But I'm not sure 1) where to move them, 2) what areas are available to move them to, 3) if I should move them (this is a nice car, good shape, it needs to look professional, not a hack job!), and then the details of how to move them.

So has anyone stumbled across this being done? (or has anyone done this?)

I'd love to make HVAC electronic but unfortunately in this car there are manual knobs, I think the temp knob has a cable that is hard to push/pull, I've seen something about this but can't find it now.

There was one thread I can't find on LS1Tech where a guy cut the fan switch off the HVAC unit and put it where the cigarette lighter is then put the other two in the cubby hole in the center console. I personally will be making a custom center console and relocating the HVAC controls as one piece straight down into the console.
