Great look!!! What leather vinyle are you using? I get mind from yourautotrim. Its been a while since I've used it though. Is that carbon vinyle or did you lay some down/resin/polish?
Hi Car-PC guys.
Hope you had a merry christmas.
As you may know my new goal for my car-pc install is to have a real high-class audio setup. The previous post I did contained the "hack" of a home-stereo high-end USB DAC, which is redesigned for the use in a car (12V). Now it is time to go on in the car audio section, and this is the first fabrication for my new setup.
I spent the last couple of days doing this a-pillar fabrication. I've always wanted to have an install containing tweeter and midrange in the same place, to have the most correct sound reproduction.
Because of the small (2.5") midrange in this 3-way component-speaker system, i was able to do so.
Next proces is the fabrication of new door boards, which will contain 2pcs of the included woofer for this system.
Until then you can have a look at the results of the A-pillar install. Hope you like.

Thanks.
The vinyl is from a Danish store called Stof2000. I don't know where to find it in the US, but I'm sure you have similar.
For the carbon it is just carbon foil/vinyl from "TR1". I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this carbon colour, as I also have some "gold" carbon foil that may match the speakers better.
But it's easy to make some new topplates to test...
So you have 1" tweets, 2.5" mids, what's the size, range, and location of the third stage. Can't wait to see the next set.
djviller: Yes, it is a 3-way component-system from PPI, with 1" tweeter, 2.5" midrange, and 6.5" woofer.
The location of the woofers will be in the doorside, but it is going to be a BIG build, so it will take some time to do. I have though about making a temporary solution just to have the complete set done asap.
OK. Yet another add to the install.
I decided to make a temporary install of the woofers, as fabricating a set of BFS doorpanels is quite a big process, and I can not be without audio in the car for that long.
The woofers are mounted in the original speaker gaps, raised 6mm through an mdf distance-ring, and the outercover is designet to fit the new speaker....
