Ok this is what I will do.

A 1" round port 4" L in my .5 ft^3 will give me a Fb of 29Hz. I will connstruct a sealed box and run that for a while. If I don't like it, I will drill 2 holes and stick in the ports. If it sounds worse, I will rebuild the box sealed, sell it, and redo the center console completely.

I'd have to agree that porting this small of an enclosure is gonna be rough... If you do want to go ported, I'd suggest sticking with one sub. I honestly don't know much about the subs in your selection, so I can't really comment on them. A 1" round port is tiny... If you're getting very much air moving, I would think that's going to have some port noise.
Play with it, 'til it's broke.

What does port noise sound like? Is that like when you blow across an empty coke bottle?

like a out of shape person after a 2 mile run-- huffing and puffing... and just like the out of shape runner regretting running, port noise would make you regret the setup.

Are you talking about port noise or me?

Ok sealed it is. Only because I bought two woofers; so I'm going to use em both.
Bought the MDF today. Gonna cut it up tomorrow. Should have a box by Monday.

With the weather not co-operating and my 9 yr-old daughter's weekend activities, I only got about half way done with the MDF part of the project. Keep in mind the last time I built a woofer box was nearly 20 yrs ago. The hard stuff is still looming and it won't be done any quicker with me working 10-7 all this week. But its a start and that helps w/ motivation.
The last pic is the matching three-way going up front, but that is another project.
    Till next time,

Great explanation of it... Granted, I don't find a 2-mile run to be very far... It's more about the pace of those two miles.

And to the OP - Have you placed it in the truck yet to see how far above the arm rests that box is going to put it?

Just went with measurements for now. And I am quite pleased with the results so far. I will do a mock-up placement after i make the baffles for the woofers. Then its on to cutting and fiberglassing plastic.

The woofer baffles are done except for cutting the holes. I put the box in the truck to see how high it is. Personally I think it is perfect. I am thinking about cutting down the front leg to mimic the stock console's bottom edge and how it mounts to the sloped trans tunnel.

I did not have to cut the original console up as expected. GM was kind enough to screw together the parts I needed. I still have to cut off the lower front. It is part of the base that the back, top, and upper front were screwed to.

PICs later. Waiting on my figerglass, fabric, mat, and various parts to finish the woofer box.
