Help with making a custom bezel for a Xenarc in a BMW
I had a flash of brilliance this morning and it occurred to me that rather than replacing the entire dashboard to hold the LCD that the 3-series owners are normally forced to do, I should consider just custom-fabbing an enclosure for the LCD and have it use the Kuda mount I currently have for the mounting base (and the rest will simply "rest" on the dashboard, ideally).
I have my current install in my sig, but I am starting to think it is not solid enough, so I want to fab something a little bit more "complete" and encase the LCD in it.
I wouldn't imagine there are any pre-made items like this out on the market, so I should build one myself. Would anyone have any pointers on where I should start with this? What I basically want is to take the Kuda mount, and essentially mold a "shell" over it, into which I would then mold the LCD, so it would become one huge hump that would sit on the dash, instead of the current --| shape.
