velcro ...
tho i don't know if that was a brand first or second.
What you are talking about are
"brand names" that have been transformed into "generic names." Other examples are aspirin, linoleum, nylon, escalator, kerosene, and zipper these where all brand names at one point. More recent examples are Xerox, Styrofoam, and rollerblade.

Wasn't the topic on fiberglass vs. bondo? lol, who said anything about GPS?
I'm new btw...Got an Epia 800 on its way (i killed it, trying to RMA, big ordeal...) + soon to be buying 7" Lilliput...yeah '95 Tbird...dash is kinda hard to mod for the screen but I think i'm gonna try it. My double dins are like 1.5" smaller than the width of the lcd, I guess i'm supposed to dremel into my dash and bondo it up?
wow, i totally lied. I didn't realize that my double din is like the perfect size for a 7" lilliput...just a tad bit too tall...bondo can fix that tho![]()
bondo fixes all !![]()

Yes, this is an ok idea... honestly, if you go to the trouble of making a mold so you can repoduce it, you should go ahead and make a copy and use IT instead of the original piece (often called a plug)... the reason for this is that in MOST cases, no matter how good you are, eventually it WILL crack... if you make a copy that is a single piece of fiberglass, it is UNLIKELY to EVER crack... just my opinion from past experience.Originally Posted by mutilator
