Hmmn. Can't just measure the outside? Well then you might want to try seeing how many packing peanuts will fit in there, or the use tried and true Nestea method.

filling with peanuts and water and coco !!! lol well the peanuts wil not really give you a good measure as they are not a standard form ( some may be bigger) water --- who really wants to get that new mdf enclosure all wet ( unless you fiberglases the inside of it) then you have a matter of gitting the water out ( i guess you can drill a hole in it and put a drain valve)

why not just build it like you want put the speaker in and see how it sounds if no good stuff it with poly fill

dont forget to divide by 1728

kupop--most maunfacturers already allow for driver displacement when they give the specs for your enclosure

albysure, but not all do.

If you are using MDF chances are the box is not so difficult that you could just some simple math. When you are using fiberglass off the floor panel and sides of the walls/wheel wells, it is not longer straight angles and to get a good volume measurement it is sometimes easiler to fill it up with something, then measure whatever you fill it up with.

I never used the water method, but have talked to people who have, I wouldn't suggest it on MDF as quickly as fiberglass, also not on large boxes. To remove the water, you just dump it out the hole(s) for the subwoofer. The rest will evap.
