thats it, any Ideas on what to use for a faceplate Im looking for something to put around the LCD area of the face plate and the outside of the faceplate like a boarder of some sort to hide any imperfections. yall know what I mean?

I have been thinking of useing cheap picture frames
They come in all shapes sizes and textures,hope i understood your question
I made up a frame using some aluminum from a 1/8" high floor plate for a door and some 1/4" wood trim (think it was screen trim or something) - got everything at Home Depot.
I attached some pics - was not able to get them all. One thing that I also did was added a window and re-located the IR sensor so I can still use the remote.

That's not a bad idea. That way you wont have to fiberglass into a cd player slot and essentially ruin a dash piece.

what kind of touch screen is that? ive only seen 1 in pieces like that, it was offered to me from this site for like $388. That seems a little steep for a touch screen i think
IGBR, thanks, I am kinda limited since the console is that fake burl wood stuff, so I if I were to make a nice custom install it would no longer look stock (since I would have to paint it). This was the next best thing since it has a 2 din slot already.
Cheerio, I am just using a Liliput 7" Touchscreen which is one of the most common screens people are using. It also has the advantage of being mod'ded to allow automatic power-on when power is applied.
