Thread: dash cover/ door idea

What type of actuator should I use for the door. I did a quick search and found some actuators, but was not sure how many rpm they should be. What do you think about these, I'm not sure if their the right ones.

Once the actuator has open fully in one direction does it go in the other direction once the power is supplied?

i would go for the lowest rpm possible.

If I use a power door lock actuator will I be able to set different opening limits on them or are they set to one limit?

Also if a power door lock actuator is the wrong one for this use, which one should I use?

i think they are set to a specific distance, I dont know too much in the area. I just posted the link because it gave some background into how they work. I am actually brainstormin VERY hard on this right now because I want to do it so i can preserve my lilliput's warrenty. Also a suggestion is maybe a scissor-like motion, similar to a window regulator.

I found these while searching on google, I think we might be able to use these. I not sure if they would be perfect for our use. From the looks of the website they seem expensive, but they didn't have any prices listed.

You might be able to do something like that. If you look at how a power window work, see link.

Power window

If you look at the window upside down you could do the same with the door. Instead of making the door solid you could use cloth like the one used with sunroofs. This way you don't need alot of space, the cloth could be wrikled up or roll to the top.
