its duplicolor universal flat black and duplicolor sandable filler primer. they both stink bad, must be oil based. and its spray painted, so i dont use brushes. but i know when i get the paint on my hands its hard to wash off with soap and water...it just sticks.

The two basic automotive-type paints are lacquer and enamel.
It doesn't sound like this is the problem, but you can spray enamel over lacquer, but you can't spray lacquer over enamel. There are special primers that will let you do that, but regular primer will be one or the other. If you spray lacquer over enamel, the paint will wrinkle and bubble.

If you put several coast on and it's still hazing, it sounds like either a bad batch of paint, or as you suggested, the temperature. If moisture is getting into it, it could what's causing the cloudiness.

    Good luck,

    Kris

    Grayscale,

Sand sand sand...that should help eliminate your paint problem...I'd go down to 1600...or lower grit...and wet sanding helps...then hit it with primier, wet sand that a bit...before the first coat of paint.

oooo thats a lot of sanding...well i talked to the paint place and they told me to paint the paint on thicker...and VIOLA!

Turns out the paint was evaporating too quickly causing the pigmentation to not set in. I guess I was spraying too light of coats. And the breeze didn't help, made it want to dry faster. I just painted it today during my lunch break, looks excellent! I'm so happy now! All that bondo/sanding work is done!
