I have a 03 T3 Tundra. I have a DIN and a half and want to install a 7" LCD touch. It would be nice if we could find install kits for all our cars for our LCD displays like we could for our radios. Man that would be cool. If it looks professional, 100.00 bucks. It would save me so much time and look better than what I could do on my own.

It looks like the way to move forward with this is to look into the double din idea that many of you have talked about. The advantage being that there wouldn't be much modification to anyone's dash in terms or moving around A/C, heater, etc controls. Now it's just a case of figuring out what kinds of different mounting & screw locations each car has. Of course it would be nice to design & manufacture one to fit a complete range for each car manufacturer but I'm not sure I'll be that lucky. As someone else had mentioned, maybe have a range of tabs so that whichever tabs are not needed can be simply cut off by the customer intalling the screen. I personally, think a slot (& probably mounting hardware) built into the faceplate would be a cool idea to have the slot load CD either above or below the screen. What are people's thoughts on this??

Personally, I like the idea of the slot load option. I've been thinking of mounting one, but was looking at seam lines in my dash!
As to the Double din arrangement, why not just extend it back on the sides, behind, and let the user screw into it from the mountings placed for the stereo? That would allow for flexibility in placement, both front to rear, angle, and for vertical alignment.

Oh, and I'd definitly like to see one that supported Xenarc mounting! I see a few around that may work for a Lilliput, but can't see buying one as I see so many dead reports.

I would definately be up for buying a double din faceplate from you. I have a '95 BMW E36 and want to put the screen in the double din area where the sunglass holder and OBC is. I would prefer to get a lilliput. As far as the slot load goes, I'm interested in principle, but I don't think the area I want to put it has the depth. I'm also based in the UK so it would be really handy if you did this.
I'm also amazed liliput or xenarc haven't done this. There are a hell of a lot of cars out there with double din slots. There are also plenty of companies selling these screens for in car entertainment purposes. I'm sure this project could be quite a profitable thing for you.
