Hey all, I just build my first set of kick pods a few months ago. They could have been much better if I had found this BEFORE I started. I used the exact same materials as this guy did - only diff is I used stretched fleece intead of building up with sprayfoam.

    http://jr.stangnet.com/kick.htm

Use mdf and duct hanging bracket (tape)...he calls is stereo rack.... anyways that duct hanging tape is like $1.19 per roll at lowes and the dowels are about $3-4 (depending on how strong you want it fleece/sprayfoam ) One glass w/hardener kit will easily do one set of panels. I suggest using the metal strip (I called it bracket tape because I don't know proper name) to get desired angle then cut dowel accordingly gluing it to your baffle.

He gives you tips on how to properly lay the upholstery... IMO vinyl is harder than paint. You can sand and sand until all is smooth, but if you don't properly pad, heat, and stretch vinyl, it can be difficult to do by yourself. Especially larger pieces. I hope the link helps you all get a better idea of how to do it.

I recently finished my audio setup in my car with help over at http://www.caraudioforum.com ~ if anyone has questions, I found it useful to read through many of the FAQ's.

if you were refuring to me. just call me jimmy.... and ya the flease is good for large area, i used foam cuz it was small. and acutally its easier to get FG by the gallon and use it that way. its like $40 for it, but it lasts longer than you will

i think vinal is cake. once you get the hang of it.. pff... no prob
When in doubt, moo at things.

I have a ram 2003 and just used the existing bezel/console. I shoehorned a 14"LCD into the dash. My pc is in the 'hidden' compartment in the center seat.

    ey Brancon,

Your install looks great. You have inspired me to think more about my upcoming indash install.

Quick question, what about your temp controls, AC buttong, etc?? Any pics on where/how you located these after your fab work?

Also, any more links where I can see more pics of your custom work on your RAM?

    thanks

I don't have the date handy, but the 702 episode of rides is airing again. I have it setup in my replaytv. If someone out there wants to host this, I will pull it off the replay and cut the fiberglassing section out. I'll upload the file to someone who can host it, please only contact me if you are able to host the file, because I am only going to send the file once. Don't ruin it for the rest of the forum users.

I received a message from a member willing to host the file. They will be getting it on November 3rd or 4th, and I'll let them post where it will be available for download. For those interested the episode is airing Tuesday November 2nd on TLC.

Hey guys, can't wait to see the video. I am thinking about recording Overhaulin to divx. I have experimented with recording with a new card I got. I could seed it through bit torrents to share with you guys. Is anyone interested in me doing that?

I am uploading just the fiberglassing part as I write this. The file is 112 megs. I'll let the individual who gratiously set up the host account post how everyone can get the file. Look for it in a day or two. The entire file is over 1 gig. On a cable modem that would take about a day and a half to upload, and that is just to unmanageable. If there is enough interest I will try to re-encode the file at a more manageable bitrate. Let me know if your interested. By the way, other than the fiberglassing part, I really didn't care for this episode.
