I don't have a 99 C230 to reference, it looks different than the 2003 I have access to.

Where are you located. What other components are you considering / using?

its where the ashtray and a bin change holder go,,,, the measurements are such a sly bit over the screen size as far as width,, and height is good for a few inches,, ill measure and take a pic in a sec

wouldnt go for that 'indash housing' I got one, very poor quality.. I sold mine to a guy.. he thought that same as me and binned it. I would bring the look and feel of car down. I wrote a review, read it at my website (link below)

thats one of the reasons i had questioned it,, just the way it looks,, nothing against the company,, i just dont think it would match the car to well,, and a permanent screen mount is very choice

the top right pic is the pic of the piece removed to make a cast of so i can make a perfect repacment mold that the screen will fit into. im still not sure how im going to go about finding the material i need for it,, as i would really really like to use the wood plastic to match,, my second choice would be the greysih rubber of the remainder of the dash.. but fiberglass would by far not match anythning,, unless covered with another rubbery substance im not sure how i would go about implementing,,, im going to ask some car detailing specialist tommorrow that worked on my pops hood and see what they reccomend,, hopefully somehting..

on a side note i believe i was jippped by "electronicar" on ebay with my lilliput,, as if looks refurbished,, if not used,, and the auction plainly stated brand new.. i had some pics that ill take aagin here in a minute

there were some scratches on the back of the screen,, the car adapter looked worn, and the AC adapter seems to be a different brand,,, but maybe all lilliputs come with it.. i mean its working... correctly

the 2 main throw offs though were that the driver and software cd was a burned and it came IN THE WRONG BOX.

¤Edit¤,, i took some pics,, sorry they are takin with a DV cam,, hard to perform

and heres the link to the end of auction,, clearly stating a brand new lilliput,,

i guess they produce lilliput touchscreens without boxes

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT

im thiking i didnt get a "BRAND NEW" lilliput

    watcha think?

You might be able to find a adpater to "fool" your HU to think the input is a CD Changer/Aux Input. I wish they had something like this when I was building the carputer in my VW. I ripped out my monsoon system and soldered connections from the amp to the speaker leads in the trunk.
