That install looks clean! Good Job!
I have the advanced system. It has 13 speakers (well, 4 * 3-way and 1 center).
The 4 speakers are connected to the (4x75w) amp and the center is connected directly to the headunit.
I guess you have the 4x50w system, but the pinouts should be the same. If it has a 6 pin DIN connector (gray cable with mine), you should be OK.
Add a sub, and you have a very nice soundsystem![]()

I like the sound system in the car alot, It has enough power and still some for what I need. I'm not really a sound guru anyhow. But the two big speakers in the rear window gives me enough bas. I don't think I'll be adding any sub right now.
PIN OUT! =P
Do you think there is anywhere you could purchase a adaptor for the amp to get RCA out. I'm not a wiring kind a guy. But if I had to I guess I would figure it out!

I'm also interested in the pinout, but i'm now sure if it's the same amp as on the S80..Originally Posted by JC-S60

Well, I found this pinout on swedespeed.com forums:
HU-803 -> Amp Cable Wiring:
1 - LF Audio
2 - RF Audio
3 - RR Audio
4 - Ground
5 - LR Audio
6 - control signal (on/off)
6 is the center pin of the din plug, the others from left to right (or right to left, depends on the way you're looking at it)
Anyways, when you buy a plug, like I did, the numbers are marked and correct.
Just make shure your control wire (pin 6, which must get 12v to switch on the amp) is shielded too, because I didn't in my first try and had a lot of noise!
Like I said, it works super in my car, as the speakers and amp are really tuned to the car.
(if you see the pic of the cable, earlier in this post, don't take it as an example, because that was the one with the noise on it. I had to get rid of the led and red control wire and replace them with a shielded one)
Joa
if your headunit has a connection like in this picture (where it says 'to amp') and...
...your amp has the connection marked as 'to headunit' (the same actually), you should be fine using the give pinout... ON YOUR OWN RISK off course!!!![]()
Nice! Thanks for the pin out, and the pics!Originally Posted by JC-S60

That rimm's in your car are from Heico?
And now just some questions ralated with the carputer.
Why have you took out the phone? It's possible to get the sound of the carputer via the original amp, but maintaining the original HU? (My car has the HU 801)
I'm not thinking in mounting the carpc in the S80, But in the future... who knows..
By now I want to see if I can get a 1995 480 GT and then mount there the carputer..
Thanks in advance, and very sorry for my (bad) english
Volvo... for life
