that's kinda a trick question, pretty much every auto maker uses a different set of locations for mounting. best bet is to get good measurements of what you have.
I am trying to make a generic single DIN mounting adaptor for my car. I know the DIN size is 7"x2", but does anyone know where the locations of the various mounting holes / screw holes should be so that any single DIN device can be used?

More info would be helpful... what are you mounting? What vehicle? Are you making a custom single DIN kit for something that doesn't already have one? Just trying to figure out your question... its kinda vague.

I am making a single din converter that will fit in my glove compartment. I am planning on mass producing them so I want it to be compatible with any aftermarket mp3 / DVD player. This will be for a device in addition to the stock radio. It is meant to be used in conjunction with a xenarc screen for DVD players mostly.
It will look something like this. I made this just for my USB sound card, but I want to do the same thing, but for Single DIN devices.

What I want is the positions of the centers of the ISO mounting holes relative to the front and bottom of the device and thier diameters.
If anyone has an single DIN device laying around with these kinds of holes in it and would be so kind to measure them, I would be most appreciative.![]()
i.e. the locations of the 5 "ISO" holes shown in this picture:

ummmm since you will be doing this mass production thing and have aparently done lot's of research, you should have a set of calipers laying around to measure the holes with dont you?
That should be published here : http://www.iso.org/iso/en/CatalogueD...CS2=40&ICS3=40 , but unfortunely i couldn't find a "free" version of it![]()

Hmm- I'm not sure if those side mounting holes are standard or not but I've seen a couple ISO mounting cages that used bendable tabs in several locations for mounting. They work very well and fits all vehicles because of the numberous tabs you can bend down.Originally Posted by god_of_cpu
If I had access to a single DIN device, them my problem would be solved. I do not, but thanks for pointing out the obvious.Originally Posted by h_2_o
I purchased a DVD player to prototype with already that I'm already going to sell cause I have no other use for it, but alas it turns out it's not a standard single DIN w/ ISO mounting holes and I would really like to avoid putting more money into this project then its already taking. I will be putting mounting holes in the mounting for this DVD player since its only 6" deep and fits very nicely and looks real cool, which is the reason I went with this model, didn't realize it wasnt standardized then though.
