cover for a slim slot loading dvd drive?

i bought a slim slot loading dvd drive from www.newegg.com and it came with no front "dust" cover as you see on most slot loading drives( car cd players for example) and i am assuming it was intended as a replacement for a laptop that already had the cover as part of its case. is there anything i can do so that it doesnt look so weird?? i need to protect it from dust as well as i need a button that will press the lil plastic button on the drive and have some type of hole for the LED that turns on when the drive is reading/writing.

    anyone have ideas?

    TIA,

    Lev

    1) "Dust cover"? Do you mean faceplace or something to keep dust out of the slot or an external enclosure like this?
    2) You can eject the drive through software, if that's an issue.
    3) LEDs are relatively easy to relocate. Break out the soldering iron.

You are pretty much straight out of luck. Your best bet would be to try to find a broken one on ebay or something and buy it for it's faceplate.

I broke the little clips on my faceplate and searched around for a replacement but it resulted in NO LOVE.

    Yes, you can assume.
And yes, that drive will fit in that enclosure. Mind you, there are cheaper enclosures out there...

Does anyone know where I can get the Slim-to-USB2.0 board that's inside those enclosures? I'm trying to free up an IDE port in my tower, and I'd like to connect my slim DVD/CDRW to the internal USB2.0 port, but I can't find the Slim-to-USB2.0 adapter without getting the enclosure with it.
