no leave it on and let it stay in standby, it won't drain your battery unless you leave it in "standby" (where you don't actually turn it off, it just turns itself off kind of) for like 3 or 4 days
So if I did this I would have to use the remote to turn on the Lilli everytime? The way it is now is I have to hit the power button everytime.Originally Posted by snmnetwork

CarPC install is starting to come along again...
I have it running off my PSU in my PC which is powered from my ITPS so power gets totally cut from it...

oh, didn't think about that, i don't use an ITPS. wellll in that case... just solder up a little momentary switch to the two solder points where the button is on the little board that holds your buttons and lights. i don' t know if you've opened up your screen and seen that but its very easy to solder onto. thats what i just did for a friends truckpc last night.

Ok.. I just picked up some Bondo Home Solutions All-Purpose Fiberglass Resin and some Fiberglass Cloths from home depot.
I really want to do this.. In regards to the Lilli. How fragile is it taking it apart.. I'm just VERY nervous about it getting jacked up (for obvious reasons with it being the most expensive part of the install).
Also, could someone give me a detailed step by step of what you would do if you were me?
Thanks so much!

I took mine apart when I did my install. Cause I cut off the buttons from the bottom as well. Ill be using a remote to turn it on now. But the only problem I had after taking it apart was it not powering up. But that was due to all the dust from sanding that got into some of the connections, so it wasnt making good contact. I just blew them all out and wiped the ribbons with alcohol and put it back together and worked. I doubt youll have a problem just make sure you seat the ribbons right when u put it back together.
Starting new project. After some jackass broke in and stole my screen.
Thanks for the picture. Do you have any others? Is your screen done? What I don't know how to do is...
1. I take the bezel out of the truck (which is the entire silver gray part).
2. I take apart the Lilli and use the front of the Liili to mold into one piece with the bezel.
How do I make it one piece? I mean... I looked at a TON of fabrication demos / tutorials but most were for making speaker boxes and what not. I think I could easily make a speaker box now but that doesn't help me with this..
Thanks for everyone's help. Hopefuly I get this done and it looks good!

If you want it to look stock, then i suggest sinking the Lilliput in and making a deep bezel/surround. If you look, most OEM screens are sunken in a little; it reduces glare (about 0.5" or so)... But not sure if this is possible in your situation
It is possible... I just don't know how to go about the fiberglassing...

Why do you say the biggest problem is how to access the lilli after the bondo? Do you mean the buttons and stuff??Originally Posted by RiZeN
Also, do you have a bezel laying around that you'd be interested in selling?
