Im going to be mounting my car pc in the floor of my van in the back
ive already fabricated a box 2" deep 15" wide and 35" long.
I originally planned on using .5 (half inch) plexi glass to accomplish this.
after doing some research i found that i have to buy a whole sheet 4'x 8' which would set me back 210-220 bux.
I could use two sheets of 1/4 inch but im not sure that will support the weight of someone nor am i even sure the half inch will. anyone fabricate something similar to this?? or have any suggestions?

use lexan or layers of it... it is almost bulletproof....it won't crack like plexi
maybe make some kind of support brace in the middle just to take some of the weight.
where in long island are you from? you should come to the next meet

Where would I find lexan? is it clear?
and most impotantly would i need a full half inch of lexan or would 1/4 suffice

where abouts? im in huntington. lexan is clear but might be more money than acrylic

yea im close to you im in central islip ...yea i just checked the prices on lexan its lke $135 for 1 24x48 sheet ouch
i know someone on here must know if .5 half inch is thick enough

15" wide and 35" long lexan?
you want this just to hold itself up- probably
you ever gonna lean on it?
give Hindricks glass a call there located in mt. sinai, i got a big piece of 1/2 inch acrylic from them awhile back(about 12x30) if i remember right, it set me back maybe 30 bux

yea most likely from time to time someone may get in the back of the van so id say it may have to support up to 180 lbs or so my friends dont weight much and no fattie girls in the van lol
