im starting to make some progress. My lcd is finally done. Im waiting on my opus which should arrive today and MII 12000 which should arrive on thursday. I have an Acura RSX and Xenarc 7inch TS. My coworker did most of the work as he has experience with bondo and I just helped and watched.
First, we cut the dash piece large enough to fit the lcd plastic snug inside it. Then took hot glue to hold it flush against each other.
Second, epoxied the two pieces togethor to give it some extra strength. NOTE: we put masking tape on the front so that the epoxy could not leak out the otherside while it was drying.
Third, Sand down the epoxy that was dripping on the sides or front. and to get a rougher surface for the bondo-hair.
Fourth, applied a thin layer of bondo-hair to the front to form it into one piece.
then after it dried, sand, sand, primer, paint, texture.
when I get my computer I will be putting it in my car because I dont wanna drive around all week with no music and an non working lcd in my dash hehe
EDIT: sorry bout the ****ty quality of the pics I had to use my camera phone, I will use a digital camera when i take install pics!

yah we wanted to try and texture it and its too heavy IMO. I think later on I may sand it down and redo the texture with flat black instead of glossy cuz it stands out too much.Originally Posted by oekundar

ApoloV, Im in Toledo,Oh I havnt been to any RSX meets cuz I just got my car about 3 months ago. I will probably hit some up in the spring. Let me know if and when you are going to any as I dont keep up on them.
haha ok, well i'm not THAT far but far enough.. East coast of Virginia. although this spring I go back to college at Virginia Tech.
i can't wait to get all this done, i miss my music/nav system and need to finish my PC case, the sub box however is DONE! just need to test it tonight, probably add some polyfill and carpet the bastard.
once i get the PC case done I'll install it all... Hopefully in 1week or so i should be comletely done... or at least thats my goal...

you'll have to let me know how that bass goes over with your HD, i wanna put a sub back in but im scared to have the computer and the sub next to each other. What I might do later on is have a flash drive with the OS and a USB HD somewhere else
