2004 Trailblazer Custom Console

i just bought a 2004 trailblazer. i love it (today it is getting custom leather seats and heated seats). i am soon going to install either the avic-n1 or a carputer. i absolutely hate the way the center console is layed out. the cup holders are too small and if you plug anything into the 2 cig lighters, you cant use the cup holders. it seems i could replace this but i have 0 fabrication experience. couple of questions:
1. is there somewhere i can buy a replacement?
2. how hard is it for me to make one myself?
3. if i did replace it, could i reroute the ciglighters and install a powerinverter.
Any thoughts/help would be much appreciated.

Not sure on the replacement, but I would think the only replacements you'll find for it will be laid out similarly. Cup holder size has been a complaint of mine in the both they Chevy I own now and my old Toyota. Seems manufacturers want us to drink small coffees. Building a console is not as complictated as it sounds, it is however a lot of work. Build it out of 1/2" or 3/4" Medium Density Fiberboard and then use fiberglass and bondo to smooth it out to the shape you want. As far as relocating the power ports and lighter, you can do whatever you like if you build it yourself. You might take a look at the console these Guys built for ideas:

Side note, only american cars have cup holders, the rest of the world realizes drinking and driving, or eating for that matter isnt for inside the car. Though in america longer road trips (USA is kinda big in comparison) to/from work definitely merit some good ol coffee.
