Hi! I got the new replacement screen in today (touchscreen problem on the old one). I went to the arts and crafts store and bought some clay! I am hoping that this will help me visualize how I'd like the thing to look... I also bought some Bondo-Glass and Bondo Body Filler to use once I decide how I'd like it. Let me know what you think about the angle of the screen etc.. -BW

maybe you can cut out the bottom side of the rectangle to make it wider. That way you can maintain the angle of the screen and have it recessed in rather than buldging out.
I sense glare problems ahead with that angle
you're weird man, just slap some bondo on there and get to sanding!
CarPC install is starting to come along again...
I was working on the clay a little more tonight, and it's a bit smoother now. I also put the LCD and touchscreen into the bezel and stuck it into the truck. It's too dark right now to tell if glare is an issue, so I will wait until tomorrow to find out...Wish me luck! Either way, it IS only clay, I can re adjust it!! I will hopefully start the bondo process tomorrow. Have a good one!
why not just use polymer clay get it to the shape you want and bake it?

The thought of using some sort of clay and baking it did run across my mind, but I quickly assumed the same thing about melting the bezels. I am soo excited right now that this project is finally coming to life! I hope it works out ok!
Just as a side note that I forgot to add in... When I was re attaching the control panel using the ribbon cable, I noticed that it does not fit quite right. The spacing between the pins is fine, but it wants to sit in the wrong spot. As a tip for others that can't power up their Lilliput after removing the keypad, take a look at where the pins are lining up to the ribbon cable - it was my problem and may one day happen to you!
Also, I added more pix to the gallery listed above. They show the bezel on and in the dash - Take a look!
