I picked up an 8" lilli that i want to put in my center console. The unit is a tight fit in the space i have but will fit. I had spoken to a friend of mine who does this work and he quoted me a price that is a bit out of range for me...i was going to attempt this myself but i have NEVER done work with fiberglass, bondo, epoxy or anything of this nature...i did much research and found the Epoxy-Weld thread that Altimat posted, checked around Home Depot and Loews and have not found this. I was wonderring if anyone in the central New Jersey area would like to help me out with this project. I am willing to pay as long as it does not meet or exceed the price i had already been quoted...
if anyone can help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated...my Carputer is almost complete, just have to transfer my mp3's over and install it in the car...i have everything ready to go just need to mold the screen into the console...
thanks...

My recommendation:
Just try it. The worst you'll do is knacker up a fairly inexpensive radio trim piece that can likely be had at a scarpyard.
Before I attempted my in-dash mount, I had never worked with bondo, fiberglass, paint, or a screwdriver. Well I used a screwdriver a couple times maybe, but my point is that you learn as you go. Just read what some others have done, try to mimic them, and you'll likely be impressed by your results. You will also get a feeling of accomplishment since you did it "all by yourself". Go for it!!!
I'd be willing to give you a hand but I'm in Ulster County, NY. I've got the tools and a work shop...no garage though. Not sure how much of a drive it'd be for you or if you'd be interested. I might be able to come to you depending on your location. Take a look at the pics of mine if you want to see my work. No charge for the help. Oh yeah...credentials are 5 years of custom stereo installs at a local shop, of course that was almost 10 years ago now.Originally Posted by Gordinho80

Just in case no one else says it, that kind of helping hand is commendable. It is great to see that kind of "community" here.Originally Posted by Jailer
