Help on custom dash for Caddy STS

jadz: That screen install looks pretty good, but what did you do about the rest of the console? It looks a little on the rough side....

should have molded the rest of the dash peice into the screen bezel.

The rest of the console (from the screen down) is a custom piece not seen in the photos. Its a fibreglass piece that has slots for USB connections and a few extra buttons for a hard shutdown of the PC etc.

All I have to say is good luck I just did a screen in my cts.... It wasnt as easy as I thought it would be but it can definetly be done.

Although when cadillac owners find out what the project involves most of them don't do it...

I just finished mine last week now im building the carputer heres some before and after pics.

Are you sure that's a new idea? lol Take a look at my photo-mockup in post 8. Looks pretty similar.

I too had thought about putting a headunit below the screen like in your picture, but decided against it as I felt it would look out of place. That picture confirms it in my opinion, and I'm glad I didn't.

Is that your car or just a pic you found? I like the start button in the dash but don't care for the steering wheel. Anyway here's how mine turned out. Everyone that see's it in person thinks the car came this way, which is the look I was shooting for.

now that's the ****! that looks close to an oem looking bezel with the buttons and knobs on the side.

No this is not my car.. this was a picture I found on Caddillac Owners forums.. in their pictures folders.. I have been looking at an getting an idea about putting a monitor in the HU area..

I have scene your mock up but I was trying to show that it had actually been done...I had not seen any recent post from you about it....

lol, what would you prefer? a bluetooth chip on your keychain letting the car know you're within 10 feet of it, so you can just press a button and have it start?

..there's a thread where they're working on it...
