finally... some Dodge Ram indash install pics .

I have the same truck and I am currently contemplating in-dash for my truck. However I haven't settled on an idea for the best location. So far I narrowed my options to either in-dash (like you are performing) or top of dash-mount (like a titan). Presently I my monitor temporarily side-mounted in the blank insert on the right side of the bezel above the hook.

I am very eager to see your final product and your HVAC control relocation.

Keep up the good work and post more pics

Looks awesome. I don't know if I have the patience to do quality work like that. My Durango has the worst dash for an LCD. The only way I see to do it is to lose my head unit and middle AC vents. Any other ideas?

It rained all day.....and no shop to work on my truck in. Gonna start some fiberglass work in the garage.

Post a pic from the backseat so I can see the whole front interior.

Ok.....I was trying to decide how I wanted my center console and I realized that I could remove the cupholders. Originally I thought it was a part of the lower dash. This got me to thinking I could relocate my AC and seat heater controls here. So I made a fiberglass mold of the outside of the cup holders. Tomorrow I will add fiberglass and try to figure out how to mount this thing,

    sounds good.

Are you going to mount your HVAC controls inside of the flip-down lid or make the drop-down cup holder fixed within the dash?

No they are going to be fixed in the spot where the cupholder was. I thought about the flip down idea, but I couldn't figure out how to get the cupholder section out of the skin. Plus it is an awfully big wiring harness just for the AC and they don't flex very well.

I have the 2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Diesel and I also plan to install an in-dash LCD. My plan is to move the HVAC controls down to the cubby hole. The LCD screen will be installed where the factory HU is currently located and will extend down into the area where the HVAC controls exist today.

Looking forward to more posts and pictures from others working on the same truck. Niice job!

FYI - in the future for anyone looking to do custom dash work (I highly recomend it, it looks 100% better than screwing a screen to your dash...lol)

a good primer is polyfill primer. If you can't get your hands on it, use the duplicolor filler primer. It will help to fill in the little pin holes that will be left after sanding down your bondo (they are ALWAYS there). You will lessen your chances of ending up with "fish eyes" (the circular divits in the paint).

Dash looks sweet Wolfman....you aren't on DakUSA by any chance are you? And where in East Texas are you located?

Wow, that looks really good. How'd you maintain the holes for the buttons while you were bondo-ing?
