i dont see why body filler wouldnt work
i just finished putting my lcd frame and bezel together, went to kragen auto parts and they gave me this Bondo Fiberglass Resin Jelly, but not sure how this thing really work, can i just get a bondo filler and put it around the frame without fiberglass? i only need to fill the gap around the framethanks
i dont see why body filler wouldnt work
is the fiber glass fixed in with the bondo?
if there seperate u dont really have to put the glass in.. u may want to put a little in the 2 big side holes.
but for the top coat u dont want fiberglass.
1. its a ***** to sand.
2. u wont get a good finish when u paint it.. u will see the fiberglas stands.
edit: just looking at the stuff u bought again.. it just looks like fiber glass..
which will be good and strong for the base but u will still need to get a body filler to put over the top to sand.. fiberglass will be hard to sand on it own.
did it cure hard? that stuff looks bright white, like you didn't mix any hardener in! Surely you did? But yeah get the normal stuff to put on the top layer. Actually thats hardly anything to fill so I would have just used regular bondo for the whole thing
CarPC install is starting to come along again...
not sure if fiber glass have bondo in it but it says "Repairs or Restyle all Metal,Wood,Plastic and Fiberglass Surfaces" and also they have a note behind the can that say "FIBERGLASS RESIN JELLY SHOULD ONLY BE USED FIBERGLASS CLOTH OR MATTING FOR STRENGTH, NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USED WITHOUT FIBERGLASS AS A CLOTHING ALONE.WHEN USED WITH PLASTIC FILM OR RELEASE FILM,THE TOP SURFACE MAYBE SLIGHTLY TACKY" this is why i would like to skip the fiberglass thing, not sure if i would have to do all this for just a small spot to cover, but i'm affraid the bondo filler will crack after a while if i dont use fiberglass first.thanks guys
the epoxy weld i used cured really fast,in about 10 mins its hard like a rock and i was able to sand it down using my dremel.did they have bondo filler for plastic, all i can find only for metal or fiberglass dont know if its okey to use them.
maybe next thing i will need help is how will i paint this thing,i want to paint it like piano finished
In the last picture on the bottom of the bezel is the white stuff holding the screen togeather what is that? hot glue?
its epoxy weld
Hey,
The guys gave you the wrong stuff. You need "Bondo Glass". This stuff is in a similar looking can but it says something like Fiberglass Reinforced Bondo. It is basically just bondo with fiberglass in it. Use that stuff
