Anyone managed to get out the center console and make a new one?(of the vauxhall astra), i dont like the idea of cutting original parts :P. Is it a good idea to make a new one out of Fiberglass or u guys do it different?

Get yourself down to the scrappy* and pickup a console, and butcher that.
Move the headunit to the cubby hole and put a flipout screen where the headunit is.
You would like to keep the headunit? Why? (i'm assuming you have the same HU as in the picture) If you have a better one and it has a removeable face, you can relocate it (glove?) and run an extension to the face, which you could velcro or bond somewhere else.

Luckily i have way better stuff than the one on the picture, a Pioneer 9000 Series (dont know the exact number)Originally Posted by Enforcer
Maybe relocating is a very good idea i`ll try to remember that one
Will pickup my car friday, and start tearing it apart the same day to build in my audio stuff and carputer
Guess i`ll be a lot on this forum the upcomming weeks, need to build a custom trunk too (got a 12" sub and 2 amplifiers to get in there and look very nice (if thats possible with my skills))
I have a Pioneer KEH 8010 which I have relocated to the glove compartment. Am now in the process of doing the extension.Originally Posted by Maddog_rvo

Actually, I'd put an 'in dash' (ie fold away in a DIN space) where the cubby hole is. Its the perfect place.
