Lilliput indash in Renault Laguna '97

Well I have been around these pages for 4 months on and off, and have finally made a start on my project. I have got to the point of having a semi okay looking bezel in my centre dash - check out the pics, all comments more than welcome.

Sorry I dont have any pics of the process, just from the "after bondo" stage.

hopefully get the little cracks and holes filled, easier said than done! then spray it all black, got some black spray that perfectly matches my dash (so it says on the can!!) then all should be good - also got some 10mm smoke plexi glass to build a nice case for the boot (trunk to you yanks!)

My advise, is work slowly and patiently, so that u'll be satisfied without a major do over.

To fill craks & holes (as long as they are less that 1/4mm deep/wide), use sintofer finition mastic and a fine nylon paintbrush (sintofer won't stick to the brush), and progress with little steps.

Never use the finition mastic for filling big holes, it would take centuries to dry.

What's with the door? Is it gonna slide back when you're using the screen, or stay up all the time?

the picture isnt very good, it actually slides completely under the dash, just with the bezel being out, it looks more forward, it doesnt stop you seeing the screen at all, and acts as a nice anti theft cover

Hi Paul how is this coming on? Looks clean and more so I guess once it's sprayed.

I have the same car as yourself and have everything (sans LCD and psu) to do a set up like this.

Was thinking of going with a DIN based pop out touchscreen but this meathod looks a lot cheaper.

Can I ask how you are setting up the audio since you have yanked the radio out? Have you worked out the pin lay out for the on dash remote for volume or power on or anything?
