sweet. why dont you just go with dc to dc instead of that big bulky psu and than another bulky inverter? dc2dc is more efficients and takes up less space. just an idea. i love how it turned out tho

    Looks great.
Here's my Ram in-dash LCD install. It isn't complete (I am trying to match the interior better). I made the bezel out of aluminum and bondo. It cracked along one of the seams, but you get the idea. I've been using it for about 2 months now, and a word of advice... Put a fan behind the LCD for airflow or you will cook the LCD inverter.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions everyone! I haven't had time to work on this project for some time but would definately like to ditch the inverter setup and go DC/DC. Have too many power problems getting the inverter and shutdown controller to work well together. Thinking about going with the DSATX. Another delay has been trying to figure out just where to put everything else in the dash. I have a replacement dash bezel that I can hack up now for the LCD and got a few good ideas from other Ram projects here on what to do with relocating the A/C and 4X4 controls.

The center piece doesn't just come out. You have to take the larger front off (just to the outsides of the vents closest to the radio. That entire piece comes off. Once that has been removed you will see that the center piece is plastic-fused to the larger piece. You can drill or melt the fasteners off.
